Paying rich tributes to the services rendered by noted writer Gurajada AppaRao to Telugu language and his contribution to culture and literature, Chief Minister N. Chadrababu Naidu has announced the development of a kalakshetra in his memory at S. Rayavaram, his birth place, with a cost of ₹ 75 lakh.
Addressing a public meeting at Gudivada in S. Rayavaram mandal after participating in the Grama Darshini programme, he said it would be developed in a befitting manner to suit the stature of the reformist writer and as a tourism centre and a GO had already been issued.
Responding to the requests made by Payakaraopeta MLA Vangalapudi Anitha, he announced a degree college for the constituency, upgrading Nakkapalli community health centre to 50 beds from the present 30, a bridge across the Varaha at Pedauppalam, an additional 2,000 houses to the constituency and steps for development of beach tourism at Revu Polavaram.
Alla Appalanaidu, who has MBA qualification, thanked the Chief Minister for turning him into an entrepreneur giving 75 % subsidy for the ₹.54 lakh silage machine that would help overcome fodder scarcity. The government would buy a unit at ₹.4 from him and sell at 50 % subsidy to farmers. Beneficiaries under Chandranna Bima, ryturadham and wage increase for self-help group organisers also thanked him.
Praises villagers
Earlier, participating in the Grama Darsini programme and interacting with villagers, he Gudivada gram panchayat, he praised the villagers for the manner in which the village was developed achieving eight stars. Reiterating his governments commitment to welfare programmes, for families facing hardship second pension would be sanctioned soon. All villages would be connected by fiber grid soon.
Mr. Naidu gave away cheques totalling ₹ 3.17 crore to 62 self-help groups.
