Vizianagaram is a popular business destination in the Northern Andhra
Region. The distance from Vizag to Vizianagaram is 67km via the
National Highway 26 (NH 26). Vizianagaram city is the headquarters of
the district, which includes Bobbili, Paravathipuram, Salur, and
Srungavarapukota. The place is known for its rich culture and heritage
from the 17th century. An important event in history “Bobbili Yudham”,
an aggressive war between the Maharaja of Vizianagaram and the Raja of

city annually hosts a festival called the Srimanthotsavam, or the
Pydithalli Ammavaru festival. During this festival, all the public
buildings, clock towers (popularly known as Ghanta Stambham) and roads
in the town will be decorated. This festival usually takes place after
the Dusheera Navarathri. The city is known to have one of the ancient
educational institutions in the state, the Maharajah’s Government
