As we enter into the New Year 2022, the danger of COVID-19, as well
as Omicron, is looming all over the country. Many states have started
imposing restrictions, and curfew timings,
for the public. For the second year in a row, the Visakhapatnam City
Police have taken certain precautionary measures with regards to the New
Year’s eve in Visakhapatnam on 31 December, 2021. These restrictions, shared by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) , Visakhapatnam Ch. Adinarayana, are as follows on New Year’s Eve: 1.
Visitors and vehicular traffic to RK Beach, Jodhgullapalem Beach, Sagar
Nagar Beach, Rushikonda Beach, Bheemili Beach and Yarada Beach will be
restricted from 8pm onwards 2. All vehicular traffic on Beach Road from Naval Coastal Battery (NCB) to Bheemili will be restricted from 10pm to 5am 3. The Telugu Talli and NAD flyovers will be closed from 10pm to 5am 4.
The BRTS Road will be closed from Hanumanthavaka to Adavivaram
Junction; Goshala Junction to Vepagunta Junction; Pendurthi Junction to
NAD Junction to Convent Junction from 10pm to 5am. Emergency vehicles
must use the service road on either side. 5. The line between the
BRTS Road, from Maddilapalem Junction to Rama Talkies, and the underpass
at RTC Complex will be closed from 10pm to 5am. 6. Legal action will be taken against those who are caught speeding, making loud noises, or drinking alcohol on the roads 7. Restaurants, bars, hotels, and shops should be limited to the time allotted to them as per government norms 8. City dwellers should not hold any celebrations at public places, parks, and roads as a social responsibility Additional

the Visakhapatnam dwellers to abide by the Covid restrictions and
celebrate the New Year peacefully. He requested the public to cooperate
with the police department which is working hard for the welfare of the
