Visakhapatnam: SIT inquiry restarts in land grabbing case

ISAKHAPATNAM: The inquiry into the tampering of land records and land grabbing in Visakhapatnam by the special investigation team (SIT) has been restarted. The SIT chief and former IAS officer Vijay Kumar has ordered the officials to furnish details of land grabbing and encroachment of government lands in and around Visakhapatnam city and in the district to complete the inquiry as early as possible. It is recalled that the 3-member SIT team was appointed by the YSRCP government in October 2019, and the SIT s term was extended three times and its term was over during the lockdown period. Former
IAS officer YV Anuradha, retired judge T Bhaskara Rao and Vijay Kumar
met the government officials including the collector Vinaychand
joint-collector M Venugopal Reddy, DRO A Prasad and RDO Penchal Kishore
and others on Monday.
