Students from three north Coastal Andhra districts of Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam showcased their scientific temper with various innovative projects at the ‘Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) and Million Minds Augmenting National Aspiration and Knowledge (MANAK-2019) science and education exhibitions here on Tuesday.
550 projects on display
HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao inaugurated the three-day expo at the Jubliee High School in Gnanapuram area. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the government had been organisng science exhibitions regularly to encourage innovative ideas among the schoolchildren.
Among the 550 projects on display at the expo, 425 are from Visakhapatnam, 65 from Srikakulam and 60 projects are from Vizianagaram districts. The students not only displayed their projects, but also explained about them to the visitors. Many of the projects focussed on environmental issues.
Green themes
R. Nandini, a Class VII student of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya at Chintapalle, showcased how to produce energy from kitchen waste. Projects such as waste segregation at home by students of Sri Venu Vidyannikethan at K. Kotapadu, water bottle watering system by KGBV Ravikamatham students, road cleaning machine using solar power received good response. Many students from Agency areas too participated in the programme.
