TVS Motor Company, the flagship company of the $8.5 billion TVS Group, posted a 15.5% increase in its stand-alone net profit for the third quarter ended December 2018 to ₹178.4 crore against ₹154.4 crore in the year-earlier period on increased sales volume.
The two and three-wheeler manufacturer posted revenue of ₹4,664.6 crore against ₹3,703.1 crore, marking an increase of 26%.
Two-wheeler sales
From October to December, the firms overall two-wheeler sales, including exports, grew 18.9% to 9.50 lakh units from 7.99 lakh units, motorcycles by 20.3% to 3.78 lakh units and scooters by 31.7% to 3.54 lakh units. Three wheelers rose 47%.
Total exports grew 25.8% to 1.77 lakh units from 1.40 lakh units.
During the period under review, the company invested ₹35 crore in the equity shares of TVS Credit Services Ltd., ₹31.80 crore in TVS Motor (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. and ₹21 crore in PT.TVS Motor Company, Indonesia.
