Test your appetite
Despite what its name might suggest, the intention behind the newly-opened Disgusting Food Museum, is not to judge. The museum showcases some of the most bizarre food offerings from around the world, in an effort to highlight different perceptions of food in different cultures: what some may see as horrific, others may well see as a delicacy.
Everything from Peruvian frog smoothie and Chinese mouse wine to casu marzu, a maggot-infested cheese from Sardinia, is on display here. The experience promises to be not only one of shocking visuals, but also of strong and putrid smells. This should come as no surprise, considering that it was curated by Dr Samuel West, the psychologist famous for his successful Museum of Failure.
While the US leg of the museum — set up in Los Angeles A+D Architecture and Design Museum — is open till February 9, its Sweden branch in Malmo towns Slagthuset complex will stay open to the public well into September. The total number of exhibits at each museum is 80.

An education in chocolate
At first glance, it might appear as if Yorks Chocolate Story only looks at the citys chocolate history. While that was the raison d’etre for the three-storied museum set up in this northeastern English city, today the museum offers a wider experience.
