Fervour marks Vaikuntha Ekadasi at Simhachalam

The Simhachalam Devasthanam observed the auspicious Vaikuntha Ekadasi with religious fervour here on Wednesday.

A large number of devotees from the district as well as neighbouring districts of Vizianagaram and Srikakulam and also from Odisha thronged the temple to pray to Lord Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swami on the occasion.

The  Uttara Dwara  was opened for devotees for darshan of the presiding deity.

The temple was decked up with flowers and special arrangements were made by the Devasthanam management to ensure hassle-free darshan for devotees.

Human Resources Development RD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, along with MLA Gana Babu and Panchakarla Ramesh Babu, visited the temple and offered prayers.

Suprabhata Seva

Suprabhata Seva and Beda Pradakshinam were organised by the temple authorities.

As per tradition, the Lord was also taken out around the temple in a palanquin. It took four hours for the procession to go around the temple premises. A group from Lakshmi Narasimha Swami temple in Visakhapatnam Steel Plant performed  Kolattam  in front of the Raj Gopuram.

Police had made elaborate security arrangement and the festival witnessed a variety of cultural programmes.
