Going down the memory lane

Nostalgia marked the alumni meet of Andhra University which was organised on Monday. The reunion called WAVES-2018 marks the birth anniversary of founder Vice-Chancellor C.R. Reddy. Alumni from the across the country and also abroad visited the university and revisited the memories of their college days. Several departments were decked up to celebrate the reunion. Banners of reunion meet were put up and people were seen recounting their student life. Rivers Project
Department of Architecture was all about lights and installations, as string lights flowing through bottles and paper cups were arranged on the either side of the road that led to the department. An art installation and photography exhibition was hosted by two former students of the department. Apuroopaa Reddy and Percy Tabitha exhibited more than 21 photos and an art installation under the label The Rivers Project. The exhibition was aimed at bringing awareness among the masses about the dying state of rivers in the country. The project was a result of the realisation that despite considering the rivers holy, we have been mercilessly polluting them, Mr. Reddy said. RoundtablesRoundtable discussions were held in Department of Social Sciences where alumni got together to recollect their days at the university. Several other sports programmes and competitions like essay writing and elocution were held by various departments to celebrate the occasion. In some of the departments, old students spoke about their experience in the college and their life journey. They were seen exchanging views and taking selfies with the present batch. Dr. Srinubabu, CEO of Pulsus and an alumnus of AU, said that because of strong alumni support of Stanford University, the Silicon Valley was established in California Bay area and a similar type of development should happen at Andhra University. Earlier, garlanding the bust of Prof. CR Reddy, Vice-Chancellor G. Nageswara Rao said AU has a very strong alumni community across the globe the list has a number of eminent personalities.
