Elections were held to 119 constituencies in Telangana, India s newest State, on Friday. The Congress-led Praja Kutami (People s Front), also comprising the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the Telangana Jana Samithi and the CPI, is pitted against the ruling Telangana Rashtriya Samiti (TRS), which is allied with the AIMIM. The BJP is also contesting the elections.
