Former cricket captain Mithali Raj let her bat do the talking as she knocked the daylights out of the Andhra bowlers at the one-day cricket match against the hosts in the BCCI Senior Women One Day League at the ACA grounds on Thursday.
It was a sight to see the most prolific batswoman in the world smashing the infield with shots on either side of the wicket.
Chasing a modest target of 129, the railways led by Mithali notched up the required runs in just 25 overs, with Mithali scoring 63 off just 70 balls laced with six fours and a six.
It was a fitting knock by the champion, who had recently spoken her mind after being dropped by the team management in the crucial semi final against England in the Women T-20 tourney in West Indies. Mithali found her form blasting her way to victory.
Scores of fans and students enjoyed the knock from the pavilion. Mithali had always fond memories of the cricket grounds in Guntur and at the Mangalagiri ACA stadium and used to come here before embarking on any tour.
