Telugu Titans will clash with Gujarat Fortunegiants and Patna Pirates will clash with Puneri Paltan on the opening day of the Pro Kabaddi League 2018 Season VI, scheduled to begin at the Rajiv Gandhi (Port) Indoor Stadium, here on Friday.
Announcing this at a media conference here on Thursday, CEO of Telugu Titans Pavan Kumar and its manager Trinadh Reddy said that the league grew from strength to strength in the quality of competition, game play and player performances. There were some phenomenal performances by newcomers in the Telugu Titans team like captain Vishal Bharadwaj and seasoned player Rahul Chaudhari, who was the first player to achieve 700 points.
Mr. Pavan Kumar said that support from the home fans in Visakhapatnam would be a morale booster for the Telugu Titans team and help in its victory.
Replying to queries, Mr. Vishal attributed the losses in the last few matches to some mistakes but added there would be no changes in the team. Mr. Trinadh Reddy, however, said that based on player fitness and the composition of the opposition team, a decision would be taken on the change of players.
To another query, he said that Neelesh was rested for the last two matches as he needed some rest and to use senior and experienced players in the home match.
The match will be telecast live on Star Sports Network, which includes the FTA channel, Star Sports First, Star Sports 2 and Star Sports 2 HD in English and on Star Maa Gold, Star Sports 1 Telugu and Hotstar in Telugu, from 8 p.m. on Friday.
