Congress takes out Praja Chaitanya Yatra

Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) general secretary Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao has alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu were cheating the people with false promises.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao led the  Praja Chaitanya Yatra , organised by the Congress , from Dugralamma Gudi junction near Poorna Market to Saraswati Park on Saturday.

Addressing the gathering, he said the Modi government had promised to grant Special Category Status (SCS) to AP and had dodged the issue for four years.

On the other hand, TDP president and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who had failed to insist on implementation of SCS, was now keen on it in view of the forthcoming general elections.

He alleged that the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister had cheated the people of AP by not granting SCS and railway zone.

The PCC general secretary said people were ready to teach the BJP and the TDP a lesson in the next elections.

City Congress president Behera Bhaskara Rao ridiculed the Modi government for failing to declare the new railway zone with headquarters in Visakhapatnam.

City Mahila Congress president Pedada Ramani Kumari and former Chairman of VUDA PSN Raju were among those who participated.
