The Builders Association of India will organise its Managing Committee and General Council Meeting, at Sai Priya resort here from August 3.
The Builders Association of India is a recognised body and its policy decisions are considered by various Ministries in forming the national policies, said association s All India national vice-president Ch. Ramakotaiah.
Organisation committee co-chairman Kumar Raja said a number key issues such as amendments to the National Building Code and National Construction Law Bill, which are all set for deliberations in the Parliament, will be discussed at length during the meet.
Other issues such as impact of GST, Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), sand mining and pricing of raw material and construction material will also come up for discussion.
Giving a brief on the formation of the BAI, Mr. Ramakotaiah said it’s founded by Brigadier Jackson, an Englishman, in 1941 in Pune and as on date, there are 170 centres across the country with around 20,000 patron members and about 1 lakh annual members.
Industrial expo
The representatives from top construction companies such as L &T, Construction Industry Development Council and Shapoorji Pallonji group, will be participating in the programme.
Apart from the two-day meeting, an industrial exhibition showcasing the latest trends in construction, machinery and equipment will also be organised, he said.
